There are three advantages of that:
- Fit body: Now that’s obvious. We all know pushups are the best form of whole body exercise. So even if you do not exercise regularly or go for a walk, pushups are sufficient to keep your body fit. Or at least you are doing something.
- Easy to form a habit: Author Charles Digg in his book power of habits says, you need cue (starting point), routine (the path) and reward (end point) to develop any habit. Here waking up in the morning is our cue. Routine is pushups and reward is a fit body. Though you won’t see your rewards in first few weeks, so this Reddit thread suggest you replace your reward with something materialistic. Like a banana, shower or your favorite breakfast.
- Ready to start the day: Doing pushups just after you get up from your bed will pump up your blood flow. This increases your energy level and gives you a head start in the morning. Personally, I have been following this routine for over a year now, and it works great. Though remember few things. Start small by doing ten pushups then increase it every day. You’ll not get six packs in a day, but you can get body pain. Eight hours of sleep makes you dehydrated, so drinking a glass of water before you start your workout. It goes without saying that these lifehacks are my personal observation. It works for most people but if this does not suit you or your feel uncomfortable then do not continue.
